Salary: $29.50 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week

Location: Edmonton, AB
Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have attention to detail, be able to perform repetitive tasks, and be comfortable sitting for extended periods
- The candidates should be capable of handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate good judgment and be reliable
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, and oversee the condition of the vehicle by inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and perform tarping to ensure the safety and security of cargo
