Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns and demonstrate professionalism in customer service
- The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, load and unload goods, and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
