Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have attention to detail and be capable of handling heavy loads
- The candidates should be able to work overtime when required and handle physically demanding work
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques, have mountain driving expertise, and demonstrate professionalism in customer service
- The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, load and unload goods, and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, pay and receive payments for goods, and perform brake adjustments
- The candidates should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle, and perform preventive maintenance
- The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption, and tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo
- The candidates should be able to transport and handle dangerous goods
