Job Description:

Salary: $29.50 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer
Documentation knowledge: Bill Of Lading, Driver Logbook, Inspection Report (Pre-Trip, En-Route, Post-Trip), Maintenance And Repair Reports, and Trip Reports
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: AZ Class License and Class 1/1F/A Licence (Semi Trailer Trucks)
Security and safety: Criminal Record Check and Drug Test

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to pay attention to detail, handle heavy loads and work overtime when required
  • The candidates should be able to perform physically demanding tasks, sit for extended periods and lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be flexible, organized, and reliable
  • The candidates should be a team player, hardworking, and patient

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials and oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, perform preventive maintenance and receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • The candidates should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption and tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
