Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)Â
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads, manage a large workload, and be comfortable with repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be able to sit for extended periods, be proficient in weight handling, and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be organized in their work processes, reliable in meeting their commitments, and a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and oversee the condition of the vehicle by inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and tarp to ensure the safety and security of cargo
