Salary: $34.10 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Morning

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year 

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to calculate fixed assets and depreciation and calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed
  • The candidates should be able to plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions and address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • The candidates should be able to coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques and have mountain driving expertise
  • The candidates should be able to maintain professionalism in customer service and arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
  • The candidates should be able to drive lighter, special purpose trucks and load and unload goods
  • The candidates should be able to obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • The candidates should be able to oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment and pay and receive payments for goods
  • The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments and perform emergency roadside repairs
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle and receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • The candidates should be able to tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
