Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s license, Willing to travel for extended periods, and Willing to travel overnight
Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul, National, Provincial/territorial, and Regional

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, and Trip reports
Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer
Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul, National, Provincial/territorial, and Regional
Credentials: AZ class license

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be bondable
  • The candidates should be able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrate flexibility, and exercise good judgment
  • The candidates should be organized, reliable, and function effectively as team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate mountain driving expertise, navigating challenging terrains with skill and safety and drive lighter, special-purpose trucks proficiently
  • The candidates should be able to load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
  • The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, following traffic regulations and safety guidelines
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment regularly
  • The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs when necessary
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle to maintain roadworthiness
  • The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance on the truck to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
  • The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch promptly and accurately
  • The candidates should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption accurately for documentation purposes
  • The candidates should be able to handle tarping and ensure the safety and security of cargo during transportation
