Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a valid Provincial Electrician Journeyman Trade Certificate License
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in troubleshooting electrical equipment and installations
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a strong safety focus and adhere to all safety protocols, be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be knowledgeable in the interpretation of electrical schematics and prints and consideration will also be given to 4th and 5th year apprentices
- The candidates should have previous experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in mining operations
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to repair and maintain mine equipment in compliance with workplace safety rules
- The candidates should be able to read, understand, and interpret technical prints accurately
- The candidates should be able to maintain electrical systems in underground environments
- The candidates should be able to install, set up, and maintain underground substations and pump stations
- The candidates should be able to inspect equipment to assess performance and identify faults or malfunctions
- The candidates should be able to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts and components
- The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned by the Electrical Supervisor
