Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of completed the third year of an Electrical Engineering program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience with databases, data management, analysis, and reporting
  • The candidates should have knowledge of computerized information systems and business administration to develop and utilize systems and processes for analyzing, presenting, and reporting information
  • The candidates should have experience with SAP and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should be able to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills and gain a deep understanding of electrical metering knowledge
  • The candidates should gain an understanding of technical terms used in the electrical distribution business and gain knowledge of utility billing processes and systems
  • The candidates should gain experience with meter data collection, validation, estimating, and editing of meter data and AMI systems
  • The candidates should gain an understanding of electrical power systems and equipment relating to transmission or distribution
  • The candidates should gain experience working with “big data” and gain practical working and troubleshooting experience related to AMI equipment and systems

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate a variety of meter data head-end software applications to process and monitor meter and AMI network device error reports, clarifying problem areas with supervisory as appropriate
  • The candidates should be able to perform printing, receipting, filing, updating, and submissions of meter and AMI network device error reports and daily verification routines on AMI devices and head-end systems, updating and editing data files, error logs, and reports
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the development and revision of processes, tools, and procedures documents and process AMI device exceptions and follow up with internal and external support groups on the status of exceptions and ticket resolutions
  • The candidates should be able to assist in resolving AMI device exceptions using established procedures, practices, and operational tools and verify end-to-end communication paths for data errors using AMI network components and head-end systems before commissioning of meter AMI device installations
  • The candidates should be able to update and maintain network component assets, configuration databases, and network maps according to established procedures and provide work program and project support for AMI Complex Metering (Retail, Wholesale, and Power Quality)
  • The candidates should be able to perform hands-on work in a lab environment with knowledge of operating engineering tools and software to troubleshoot network equipment, such as collectors, repeaters, and modems
  • The candidates should be able to maintain inventory levels for equipment and materials required in the lab, generating monthly reports using Excel and VBA and track progress of tasks using existing databases and frequently communicate with other groups to coordinate work
  • The candidates should be able to adapt to evolving work environments requiring new processes and software, and multitask to coordinate inventory flow, respond to requests, and complete daily tasks and assist with the maintenance of Telecom, Protection, Control, and Monitoring Inventory
  • The candidates should be able to work with internal customers to assist with replacing defective equipment and coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs and use the system of record (SAP) to create purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • The candidates should be able to operate and apply various software applications to produce documents, spreadsheets, presentations, flowcharts, tables, and organizational charts, including detailed numeric tables and flowcharts with specialized setups
