Job Description:

Salary: $28.50 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Type of materials: Aluminum alloys, Composite materials, Copper and copper alloys, Nickel alloys, Stainless steel, Steel, iron and heavy metals, Titanium and special alloys

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Security and safety: Bondable and Basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

The candidates should be able to handle a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, and be physically demanding
The candidates should have manual dexterity, attention to detail, and be able to sit and stand for extended periods
The candidates should be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, be flexible, and organized
The candidates should be a team player, demonstrate punctuality, be hardworking, and be resourceful

Candidate Status:

Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
The candidates should be able to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, and operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
The candidates should be able to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal, determine weldability of materials, and operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
The candidates should be able to operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal, and maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
