Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should hold a Class 4 Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification
Experience: Candidates should have plus four years of wastewater treatment experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to operate large equipment forklifts and tractors), make minor repairs to equipment, and perform safe work practices with hazardous chemicals
- The candidates should have the ability to supervise staff, record meter readings, and make arithmetic calculations accurately
- The candidates should be able to maintain composure in emergency situations and interact effectively with other employees and the public
- The candidates should possess physical ability for the role, with skills in using computers for data processing
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should 2 years acting as a Plant Operator and 2 years as an Assistant Plant Operator
- The candidates should have graduated from a recognized, two-year post-secondary program in a related field water resources engineering technology, environmental engineering technology, chemical engineering technology, or civil engineering technology and completed the Class 4 Wastewater Treatment Operator Exam with 2 years of experience as a Plant Operator
- The candidates should possess a Certificate of Completion for the California State University courses for Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants Volumes I and II
- The candidates should have valid, recognized first aid and CPR certificates and hold a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License with a current driver’s abstract showing a safe driving record
- The candidates should have knowledge of wastewater treatment procedures, operations, and plant equipment maintenance practices
- The candidates should provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform the duties of the Plant Operator and Assistant Plant Operator
- The candidates should be able to assist with data entry, stores functions, hazardous material inventory, and work procedure documentation and assist with mechanical maintenance duties
- The candidates should be able to assist with the maintenance of plant grounds, including general equipment maintenance
- The candidates should be able to perform maintenance and cleaning of related buildings, operational infrastructure, and process equipment and perform other related duties
