Tantalus Vineyards based in Kelowna, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Vineyard worker. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $16.75 to $18.50 hourly (to be negotiated) for 40 to 60 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Weekend, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Type of product: Perennials
Type of crops: Grapes

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp areas, in viticulture, in a noisy area, in odors, in outdoors, in hot areas, in dangerous areas, in dusty areas, and in cold/refrigerated areas

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to do deleafing
  • The candidates should be able to maintain and manage growth of vines, vine canopy and grapes
  • The candidates should be able to do shoot positioning
  • The candidates should be able to do soil fertility programs
  • The candidates should be able to do suckering, tying, weeding
  • The candidates should be able to harvest crops, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
