Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have journeyman status and hold a Level C ticket welder certification
Experience: Candidates should have minimum two (2) years of heavy manufacturing/mining/marine experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates must be able to work overtime, weekends, and evenings as required by management
  • The candidates must be able to walk and stand for periods at a time

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a commitment to working safely
  • The candidates should possess troubleshooting skills
  • The candidates should be self-starters, with the capacity to work as part of a team and independently
  • The candidates should have the ability to work in various work environments, including hot and cold conditions
  • The candidates should be reliable and dependable
  • The candidates should have experience in operating heavy equipment, specifically a loader, would be considered an asset
  • The candidates should have proficiency in welding, fabrication, and rigging is required
  • The candidates should hold a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to maintain all plant production and service equipment, perform planned and breakdown maintenance as required, and service, repair, and install various components such as bilge pumps, motors, gears/drives, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • The candidates should be able to service and repair gearboxes, clutches, pumps, vibrating screens, fixed belt conveyors, portable hydraulic conveyors, manual mooring winches, and mooring lines, while also maintaining paper and electronic records, shop equipment, and housekeeping
  • The candidates should be able to complete reports, estimate parts and labor costs, maintain safety, health, and environmental policies, keep accurate records, perform all assigned duties, and prioritize safety, efficiency, and proactive maintenance
