Type of materials: Aluminum alloys, Stainless steel, Steel, iron, and heavy metals

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Truck repair
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, Gas welding machine, Soldering machine, Spot welding machine, and Electrical wiring devices
Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), Fusion welds, Stud, Keyhole, and Brazing and soldering
Credentials: First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, and Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle repetitive tasks, and manage heavy loads
  • The candidates should be able to perform physically demanding tasks, demonstrate manual dexterity, and maintain attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to exhibit hand-eye coordination, sit for extended periods, and stand for long periods
  • The candidates should be able to work overtime as required and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

  • The candidate should be focused on clients and demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidate should be flexible and organized
  • The candidate should be a team player and punctual
  • The candidate should be hardworking and resourceful

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications, read welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and determine weldability of materials
  • The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, use manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, and handle oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) (AOC)
  • The candidates should be able to examine welds to ensure they meet standards or specifications, work with brakes, shears, or other metal shaping, straightening, bending machines, and operate hoisting or lifting equipment
  • The candidates should be able to use previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts or products, operate brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, seams, and maintain or perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, or soldering equipment

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
