Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have two seasons of experience in supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a proven ability to effectively supervise personnel

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of policies and procedures applicable to forest fire management
  • The candidates should have a working knowledge of fire behavior and all aspects of the Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System
  • The candidates should have a thorough knowledge of fire management concepts, wildland fire suppression tactics, resource capabilities and limitations, fireline communications, and efficient crew utilization obtained through substantial service as a primary firefighter
  • The candidates should have knowledge of accepted wildland fire safety practices and procedures
  • The candidates should have knowledge of capabilities, limitations, approved safety standards, and operating procedures of commonly used fixed and rotary wing aircraft
  • The candidates should have a minimum of five fire seasons with progressively increasing responsibility in fire operations

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get Northern Allowance of $10.65
