Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a completed 1 year certificate in office administration
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of job-related experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM)
  • The candidates should possess a working knowledge of collective agreements, policies, labour laws, procedures, and processes, as well as Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) requirements
  • The candidates should have experience within a unionized environment and the ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • The candidates should ideally have previous experience using Workforce Telestaff and/or UKG Dimensions
  • The candidates should have Excellent interpersonal skills, along with strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support and collaborate with Water Services leadership regarding staffing decisions and staff movements, maintaining a working knowledge of collective agreements, Water Services specific policies, labour laws, procedures, and processes
  • The candidates should be able to utilize discretion in releasing confidential information and advise management on decisions surrounding staffing and business plans
  • The candidates should be able to determine and schedule the placement of approximately 500+ full-time and seasonal staff (Local 37 and 709) for the preparation and completion of daily and weekly work assignments, training, and vacation
  • The candidates should be able to manage, reconcile, and coordinate relief positions and seniority, as well as supporting programs
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with internal and external trainers and facilitators to coordinate learning and development training courses, including those required to comply with regulatory and legislative standards and specific needs of The City and Water Services
  • The candidates should be able to manage seniority, position, and eligibility lists, confidential items, and employee records according to the collective agreement business needs, practices, and policies
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate appropriate work placement for employees returning from short and extended absences
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate seasonal recruitment and layoffs by determining the number of new seasonal hires, organizing start dates, and coordinating security checks for all new seasonal
