Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Experience with special needs children: Assistance with mobility
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Confidential security clearance, Basic security clearance, Reference required

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel, handle heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be able to sit, stand for extended periods, and walk
• The candidates should be able to handle weight, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, assist clients in water (i.e., pool), and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• The candidates should be able to assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk, demonstrate infant care to new parents, and launder clothing and household linens
• The candidates should be able to mend clothing and linens, plan therapeutic diets and menus, and provide companionship
• The candidates should be able to provide personal care, shop for food and household supplies, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
