Job Description:

Position: Furniture assembler

Salary: $18.00 to $19.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Hanover, ON
Shifts: Day, Overtime, 06:30 to 15:00

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, have manual dexterity, and pay attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to have hand-eye co-ordination, stand for extended periods, and work overtime if required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have flexibility, be organized, and reliable
  • The candidate should be a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare, sand and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts, assemble wooden or metal furniture and fixture parts to form subassemblies and complete articles, and install hardware on furniture and fixtures
  • The candidates should be able to inspect furniture and fixture subassemblies and finished products for conformance to quality standards and make minor adjustments and repairs
