Shifts: Morning, 08:30 to 13:30
Work setting: School or educational institution/establishment, Daycare

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Cook Trade Certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate, Food Safety Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate dependability, reliability, and good judgment
  • The candidates should show initiative, flexibility, and be organized
  • The candidates should be a team player and demonstrate good time management skills

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to determine the size of food portions and costs accurately, plan menus, and estimate food requirements effectively
  • The candidates should be able to requisition food and kitchen supplies as per operational needs, order supplies and equipment necessary for kitchen operations, and maintain inventory and accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods proficiently, prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances according to specified requirements, and prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef
  • The candidates should be able to inspect kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations, and clean kitchen and work areas thoroughly to maintain hygiene and safety standards
