Salary: $20.00 to $30.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 70 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Kirriemuir, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Beef cattle
Equipment and machinery experience: Automated manure handling or storage system and feeding and watering system

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be willing to work overtime as required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to mark livestock as proof of ownership, monitor the calving process, and track and report on current feed inventory
  • The candidates should be able to handle weaning, carry out a pasture or pen breeding program, and co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • The candidates should be able to formulate a feeding program, maintain livestock performance records, and select livestock for sale
  • The candidates should be able to maintain work records and logs and perform general farm duties
