Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction credit environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and adapt to changing conditions
  • The candidates should have the ability to drive and lead effective change in a complex multi-product line environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret financial information and proficient in an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • The candidates should have the ability to influence, develop, and maintain strategic relationships and strong working knowledge of credit principles and best practices
  • The candidates should have strong communication skills, including the ability to deal effectively with both internal and external customers
  • The candidates should be analytical, goal-driven, customer-focused, and business savvy and bilingual in English and French
  • The candidates should have intellectual horsepower, exhibit managerial courage and demonstrate business acumen
  • The candidates should possess strategic thinking, a drive for results and show organizational agility and demonstrate a focus on process improvement, with related experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to serve as a role model in the areas of safety, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors
  • The candidates should be able to lead credit and collections activities for their market area in line with company expectations and in adherence to Credit Policies, including credit approvals, risk management, timely collections, and resolving collection problems
  • The candidates should be able to process credit approvals, write-offs to bad debt, and resolution of disputes and determine appropriate collection or conservatory actions for problem accounts when centralized collection efforts are exhausted
  • The candidates should be able to evaluate and determine the adequacy of the Bad Debt Reserve and recommend adjustments and perform ongoing monitoring functions, including maintaining appropriate credit limits for established accounts and monitoring local and regional economic conditions, customer trends, and aging accounts
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that the Credit Policy is adhered to, providing oversight, support, and consultation for collections, credit applications, payment application, and strategic and difficult customer accounts and and maintain a close working relationship with the ABS centralized Credit and Collections team to maximize performance and achieve targets for collections
  • The candidates should be able to drive efficiency and simplification of processes, along with the ABS, regarding automation and digital transformation and enable improvements in processes and controls while maintaining alignment and standardization and drive and lead process improvement plans
  • The candidates should be able to enhance the Health and Safety culture by visibly supporting H&S policies and procedures and establish a Credit service and performance that provides the company with a competitive advantage in its markets
  • The candidates should be able to manage risk and exposure in accounts receivable by ensuring Credit Policy and best practices compliance and manage the overall credit or collections function and performance of all parties involved
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that all stakeholders are well-informed and have the information required to perform their duties and interact frequently with the GM, Area sales, operations personnel, and other Area Credit Managers within the country and in other countries
  • The candidates should be able to interact with the Eastern Canada Finance team as required, the ABS Credit and Collections and Customer Account Services teams, and local sales support staff and manage direct reports, oversee product lines, and handle collections of approximately $25 Million in accounts receivable per month
