Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience working in a residence environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The candidates should have preferably with direct experience working with a diverse group of students and student residents and experience with Star Rez or similar software
  • The candidates should have experience checking in and out guests, including making reservations, taking payments, issuing keys, giving directions, running reports, and reporting facility issues
  • The candidates should have experience providing customer service to guests staying in residence, including responding to concerns and offering assistance where appropriate and experience coordinating with caretaking staff for the preparation of rooms and resolving issues for guests
  • The candidates should have experience handling petty cash, debit card, and credit card payments and experience maintaining and controlling inventory of room and master keys
  • The candidates should have intermediate computer skills in MS Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email Outlook, and electronic calendar organizer and Outlook
  • The candidates should have numeracy skills related to handling cash transaction and demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with Star Rez
  • The candidates should have demonstrated strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to adapt to new and changing priorities and possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • The candidates should have demonstrated strong customer service skills with experience promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and experience in the hotel or hospitality industry
  • The candidates should be problem solvers, team players, possess a positive attitude, organized, meticulous and accountable

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to act as the first point of contact for general enquiries and collate and organize materials
  • The candidates should be able to provide routine information on programs and events and apply established standards when responding to emergencies
  • The candidates should be able to respond to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirect as appropriate
  • The candidates should be able to resolve minor complaints within the scope of the role and refer larger issues when appropriate
  • The candidates should be able to keep a record of any incidents or events that occur during a shift
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with facilities or caretaking staff to facilitate the resolution of building issues
