Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication, and Structural construction
Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), and Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, Gas welding machine, Soldering machine, Spot welding machine
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots and Welding helmet
Security and safety: Basic security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, and handle heavy loads, including weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- The candidates should be able to manage physically demanding tasks, stand for extended periods, and have manual dexterity with good hand-eye coordination
- The candidates should have attention to detail, be skilled in weight handling, and possess good hand-eye coordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills, be organized, and be a team player
- The candidates should be punctual, hardworking, and demonstrate resourcefulness
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications, read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes, and determine the weldability of materials
- The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, as well as manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, and previously set-up welding, brazing, or soldering machines
- The candidates should be able to examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications, fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal, and operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
- The candidates should be able to start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines and maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
