Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Payroll, Computer Science, or Information Technology
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience as a senior practitioner (Business Analyst) within an HR or Payroll department, including payroll processing experience on an in-house HRIS system
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of relational database management systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- The candidates should hold a Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation, be proficient in PeopleQuery, SQL, and HR modules of PeopleSoft, including Payroll, Workforce Administration, Time & Labour, and Absence Management
- The candidates should demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills with the ability to manipulate data accurately
- The candidates should have experience in HRIS application process design, development, testing, and implementation
- The candidates should have report writing and production experience using SQL, including handling and manipulating ad-hoc data requests
- The candidates should have experience writing functional business specification documentation
- The candidates should have experience acting as a lead resource on projects and/or facilitating teams, skills and experience with HRMS XML, SQL, and PeopleTools
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work with IT to identify system impacts and apply enhancements, modifications, or upgrades for existing HRIS systems
- The candidates should be able to act as the HRIS technical lead, responsible for functional documentation, system testing, implementation of changes, and training of end users, while supporting system interfaces across departments
- The candidates should be able to lead HRIS projects by setting priorities, managing deadlines, coordinating resources, and overseeing cross-functional teams
- The candidates should be able to provide ongoing HRIS support including troubleshooting, system and user documentation, enforcing security measures, and developing analytics and reporting using tools such as SQL or XML
- The candidates should be able to make strategic recommendations for efficient HRIS system management and maintain system security functions and controls, including investigating privacy breaches and participating in related investigations
- The candidates should be able to initiate system and process improvements to increase productivity and evaluate new technologies in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- The candidates should be able to maintain a thorough understanding of core HRIS systems and their integration with other platforms
- The candidates should be able to stay informed of current developments in technology, collective agreements, and HRIS best practices, perform other related duties and take on special projects
