Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards, as they will be performing safety-critical work; this includes passing a medical evaluation with a drug and alcohol test and being free of intoxicating substances
- The candidates should be able to confirm their eligibility to work in the country of interest at the time of any employment offer and take sole responsibility for securing any necessary work permits, visas, or authorizations
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be present a valid CPA Card: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level Mechanic OR a Red Seal certification
- The candidates should show a valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy Duty Mechanic trades certification
- The candidates should successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations as required; please refer to the Transport Canada site for further details
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of drive-trains, diesel, and gasoline engines
- The candidates should be able to apply working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, and experience in metal fabrication and welding
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret various schematic diagrams to support effective maintenance troubleshooting
- The candidates should be able to use computers and diagnostic tools proficiently to perform diagnostics and system checks
- The candidates should be able to work effectively as team players and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The candidates should be able to maintain a strong customer-focused attitude while working in a demanding and fast-paced environment
