Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of high school education
Experience: Candidates should have one year of experience for one year of education

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a comfort level in handling difficult customer interactions or complaints

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have some high school education and one year of related experience, or equivalent directly related experience
  • The candidates should possess a Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent and provide a Driver’s Abstract
  • The candidates should have a current Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”/AED Certificate
  • The candidates should have experience using hand and power tools, with good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and safety of small equipment
  • The candidates should have experience working in custodial, landscaping, or similar positions, possess a valid chainsaw certification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform lawn maintenance and carry out minor repairs of facilities, perform routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities to maintain cleanliness and safety
  • The candidates should be able to respond to in-person requests for information regarding area amenities and park conditions
  • The candidates should be able to perform routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to complete trail and signage projects to support accessibility and wayfinding, report all maintenance concerns in accordance with established protocols
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate familiarity with and adherence to all relevant Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies, procedures, and protocols, including the Facility Emergency Response Plan
  • The candidates should be able to complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and required online courses
