Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Pick-up truck, Roto-tiller, Small engine equipment, Tractor, Tractor mower, Weed trimmer/edger
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles, Safety vest, Gloves
Security and safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Child Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in noisy or dusty conditions
• The candidates should be able to work in hot, cold, or refrigerated environments, thrive in a fast-paced setting, and be comfortable with repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks
• The candidates should have attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling
• The candidates should be comfortable with walking

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to assist with landscape constructions, weed, prune, and trim trees and plants
• The candidates should be able to cut grass, rake, and collect refuse, as well as remove litter and garbage
• The candidates should be able to cart and spread topsoil and other materials, lay sod or seed, and plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees
• The candidates should be able to apply fertilizers, repair and maintain equipment, and write daily basic progress reports
• The candidates should be able to operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
