Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in a banking environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the knowledge, skills, and abilities usually obtained through a recognized diploma program in Business Administration or Business Management
  • The candidates should be fluent in Inuktitut, as fluency is required for the position and knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut
  • The candidates should have experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment and be aware that the official languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French, and applicants may submit their resume in any of these languages

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure the overall financial strength of NBCC’s loan portfolio by reviewing its distribution across industry sectors and assessing inherent risks
  • The candidates should be able to analyze the loan portfolio by industry sector to identify potential credit risks and areas requiring attention and review the distribution of the loan portfolio across various communities and assess the associated risks
  • The candidates should be able to analyze loan portfolios by community to evaluate credit risk and identify trends and identify and update existing loan files to reflect current market and economic conditions
  • The candidates should be able to highlight areas of concern within the loan portfolio and provide insights to senior management and provide recommendations to senior management on loan application quality and merits based on thorough analysis and evaluation
  • The candidates should be able to gather and analyze relevant financial and economic information to support decision-making processes and collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely loan portfolio reporting
  • The candidates should be able to stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors impacting the loan portfolio
