Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical, and a security check
- The candidates should be available to work nights, evenings, and days, including weekends and holidays
- The candidates should be aware that the night shift is the permanent position for this posting, with the possibility of change based on seniority
- The candidates should be eligible to work in Canada, ability to pass and obtain an airside vehicle operator’s permit
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made. Seeking any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed a recognized apprenticeship program and/or have at least 4 years of industry-related experience
- The candidates should possess a Transport Canada AME or M2 license or be an Apprentice
- The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license, possess a restricted radio operator’s permit
- The candidates should be able to meet Air Canada’s medical standards, as employees in this role conduct safety-critical work. They will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test, and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations depending on the work location
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to use the correct tools, methods, techniques, and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance
- The candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools
- The candidates should be able to work as team players with excellent written and verbal communication skills while maintaining a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment
