Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English and French Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have 1 year of office experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should undergo a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- The candidates should spend a significant amount of time working on computers to schedule appointments, update records, and communicate with patients and ability to sit and focus on computer screens for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment
- The candidates should have acceptable combinations of education and experience
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to utilize a central computerized patient index for all patients entering the hospital
- The candidates should be able to verify Nunavut Healthcare insurance coverage using the government database
- The candidates should be able to collect patient data and verify the accuracy and completeness of patients’ demographical and contact information
- The candidates should be able to book and rebook appointments for patients and physicians
- The candidates should be able to update the appointment books, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- The candidates should be able to train new staff in relevant procedures and responsibilities
- The candidates should be able to direct patients and provide Inuktitut/English translation for unilingual patients
- The candidates should be able to provides initial on-site contact with patients and other staff of the hospital requiring services from physician clinics
