Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s
Experience: Candidates should have 2 – 3 years of experience in providing financial advice to clients and achieving sales results through advice-based conversations

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in banking centre hours, including evenings and weekends
  • The candidate should be able to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance to help deliver a great client experience

  • The candidates should be a certified professional requires current accreditation and good standing in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC), meeting eligibility requirements for MFDA licensing. They should also have obtained the Designated Financial Services Advisor Designation (DFSA) through the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced Banking Centre, making a meaningful difference in our clients’ lives
  • The candidate should be an Associate Financial Advisor, forming a deep understanding of personal and small business clients’ needs and recommending simple, personalized solutions to help them achieve their financial goals
  • The candidate should be able to manage, either individually or as part of a team, a portfolio of mortgage clients with a focus on deepening the client relationship
  • The candidate should be able to meet with clients to understand their personal and business priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan
  • The candidate should be able to ensure clients’ investment, financial, and credit-related needs are met by providing a comprehensive retail banking offer or by making a formal introduction to the appropriate Imperial Service and Business Banking colleagues
  • The candidate should be able to engage in marketing and outreach activities to show clients they value them and their communities
  • The candidate should be able to grow their network, deepen existing relationships, and work as one team to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities
  • The candidate should be able to create relationships by networking with clients’ families and friends to uncover opportunities and refer to appropriate partners
  • The candidate should be able to call both existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for future growth and revenue
  • The candidate should be able to engage in community and banking centre events such as business development events, client acknowledgment programs, and client appreciation day to create and enhance CIBC presence and gain market share
