Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English or French Language
Education:Â Candidates should have Undergraduate degree in business or public administration, social sciences, law, information management or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have two (2) years of experience in a related policy, program, or legislative setting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of new or revised standards and procedures relative to information and protection of privacy matters
- The candidates should lead the development and delivery of ATIPP training for GN staff and have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- The candidates should exercise discretion in balancing priorities and dealing with sensitive matters and discretion in recommending appropriate courses of action for matters as they arise
- The candidates should work and liaise with senior-level officials within public bodies as well as access and privacy stakeholders such as the Information and Privacy Commissioner and heads of public bodies subject to the Act
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to, reporting to the Manager, Access to Information and Protection and Privacy (ATIPP), provide advice and support in the administration of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy (ATIPP) Act, regulations, and policies in a manner that is consistent with the overall vision and direction of the Government of Nunavut (GN)
- The candidates should be able to analyze and respond to access to information requests received by the ATIPP Office on behalf of all GN departments and public agencies
- The candidates should be able to provide analysis and advice on access to information and privacy matters, including the interpretation of the ATIPP Act, to all other public bodies subject to the Act
- The candidates should be able to assist in the research, development, and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the consistent and effective application of access and privacy standards throughout the GN
