Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English, and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting
Experience: Candidates should have two years budgeting, accounting, and financial management experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job
  • The candidates should have a Canadian-recognized professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • The candidates should be aware that acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position
  • The candidates should encouraged to apply if they have equivalent years of education and experience equal to the listed requirements
  • The candidates should know that the official languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French, and applicants may submit their resume in any of these languages and consider that fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment
  • The candidates should be aware that an eligibility list may be created to fill current and future vacancies across Nunavut Housing Corporation in all communities

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare budget worksheets, budget vouchers, and variance reports for corporate O and M expenditure
  • The candidates should be able to draft FMB submissions and provide applicable supporting financial information
  • The candidates should be able to provide advice and assistance to financial management and administration and complete year-end reporting duties of the Corporation
  • The candidates should be able to analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts throughout the year and at year-end

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get plus an annual Northern Allowance $16008.00 per year
