Programs that allow foreigners to live and work in Canada temporarily usually require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). all streams that fall under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) require LMIAs as well as some other immigration programs which will allow applicants to claim points for having a job in Canada.

What is a Temporary Foreign Work Permit (TFWP)?

All Employee specific work permits fall under temporary foreign work permits. Under TFWP, the Canadian government grants the right for employers to hire people for specific jobs under various streams like the Agriculture stream, the Low wage worker stream, the Health care provider stream, the global talent stream, etc. TFWP allows you to work under a specific employer.
