Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years’
Parts specialization: Carpentry/woodworking machinery
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically demanding
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- The candidates should be able to prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- The candidates should be able to measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- The candidates should be able to prepare tenders and quotations
- The candidates should be able to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- The candidates should be able to fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings and hardware, schedule and co-ordinate work on sites, survey building locations and levels
- The candidates should be able to instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, estimate costs and materials
- The candidates should be able to maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
- The candidates should be able to operate chainsaw to fell, delimb and buck trees
