Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years 

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks, pay attention to detail, and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, and flexibility
  • The candidates should be able to stay organized, work as a team player, and exercise good judgment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items, as well as labour costs
  • The candidates should be able to maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory while demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
  • The candidates should be able to supervise specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers, instruct cooks in food preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation, and create new recipes
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, as well as for special guests or functions
  • The candidates should be able to supervise cooks and kitchen staff, plan menus, ensure food quality standards, and arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • The candidates should be able to consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions, recruit and hire staff, and train staff in food preparation, cooking and handling
