Salary: $17.00 to $18.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Cambridge, ON
Shifts: Day, To be determined, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Travel expenses paid by employer, and willing to travel
Work setting: Employer’s home, staff accommodation provided, work in employer’s/client’s home, and room and board provided
Target audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge
Security and safety: Child welfare check, criminal record check, medical exam

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be prepared for overtime as required, be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, and be able to work under pressure
• The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and have experience with weight handling, up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

• The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, have excellent oral communication skills, and demonstrate flexibility
• The candidates should show initiative, have good judgment, and be organized

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to change diapers, follow parents’ lead with toilet training, and assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
• The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, travel with the family on trips, and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
• The candidates should be able to bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, discipline children according to parents’ methods, and instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, organize activities such as games and outings, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
• The candidates should be able to prepare infants and children for rest periods, supervise and care for children, and take children to and from school and appointments
• The candidates should be able to tend to the emotional well-being of children and help them with homework
