Service Canada based in Napanee, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Citizen services officer (CSO) – government services. Service Canada is a government agency providing a wide range of services and benefits to Canadians. As part of the federal government, Service Canada offers assistance with employment insurance, pension plans, social insurance numbers, passports, and various other programs and services. Residents of Napanee and surrounding areas can access in-person assistance at the Service Canada office for help with applications, inquiries, and information related to federal government programs and services. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $30.88 hourly for 7.5 to 37.5 hours per week
Employment Type: Casual employment Part time leading to full time
Location: 2 Dairy Avenue Napanee, ON K7R 3T1
Shifts: Day, On Call, To be determined

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Bilingual Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Computer and technology knowledge: Database software, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Windows 
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of working under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be prepared for handling a large caseload, willing to work overtime when required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate and have a client focus, possessing efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrating flexibility and exercising good judgment
  • The candidates should be organized

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to determine the eligibility of persons applying for benefits and ascertain facts on issues such as the reason for loss of employment and availability for work
  • The candidates should be able to provide clients with information and assistance as needed
