Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to requisition and deliver supplies and load and unload trucks
  • The candidates should be willing to work afternoon shifts for the duration of the school year, with a schedule of 1:30pm – 10pm, Monday to Friday
  • The candidates should be flexible to work day shifts for holiday breaks/hiatus periods or as needed for training or other purposes

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of equipment, materials, and cleaning processes
  • The candidates should be familiar with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) requirements for handling chemical solutions
  • The candidates should understand Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements related to work environment hazards
  • The candidates should be able to determine daily priorities, recognize problems to identify the need for maintenance or repairs, maintain a schedule of work tasks, and requisition supplies and report problems accordingly
  • The candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills to courteously convey information
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand department procedures and quality requirements

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform all aspects of cleaning responsibilities on a daily basis, including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, and disinfecting all washrooms, shower and bath areas, furniture, walls, windows, garbage containers, wet mop floors, and pick up garbage and recycling
  • The candidates should be able to removing snow and ice from doorways and emergency exits
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain equipment such as buffing and shampoo machines
