Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have Completion of a Bachelor of Adult Education or Bachelor of Education
Experience: Candidates should have Two years of positive and progressive work experience in adult instruction
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge and understanding of adult education theory and practice
- The candidates should possess knowledge of and experience in basic academic career counseling/coaching
- The candidates should have knowledge of northern communities, cultures, and cross-cultural processes
- The candidates should demonstrate proven leadership, management, organizational, and time management skills
- The candidates should have budgeting skills and the ability to anticipate long-term financial needs and requirements for program delivery
- The candidates should have Adult Education Certification or coursework
- The candidates should have fluency in one or more Aboriginal languages, reflective of the community in which the incumbent will be employed
- The candidates should be familiar with current distance education techniques
- The candidates should be certified in First Aid
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide academic and administrative leadership for the effective delivery of a full range of literacy, academic, skill-based, and Developmental Studies programming at the Community Learning Centre on the Hay River Reserve
- The candidates should be able to serve as the first point of contact for the college on the Hay River Reserve and provide leadership in the delivery and/or facilitation of programs and courses
- The candidates should be able to promote career development for people in the community
