Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Equipment and machinery experience: Grinding machine, nail guns, drills, torches, sandblasters
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and at heights, and be prepared to work underground if necessary
- The candidates should be capable of working in confined spaces, tolerate noisy environments, and be aware of and able to handle potentially dangerous situations
- The candidates should be able to work in dusty conditions and tolerate hot working environments
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials, operate mobile and tower cranes, and clean and lubricate cranes.
- The candidates should be able to erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades, operate pile driving cranes, and mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
- The candidates should be able to assemble tower cranes on-site, operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments, and assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
- The candidates should be able to operate gantry cranes at portside, operate locomotive cranes at railway yards, and assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
- The candidates should be able to operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move, and place plant machinery and materials, operate offshore oil rig cranes, and level earth to fine grade specifications.
- The candidates should be able to operate cranes mounted on boats or barges, pave and rake asphalt, and assist in demolishing buildings.
- The candidates should be able to clean and pile salvaged materials, operate dragline cranes at open-pit mines, perform routine maintenance work, and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
- The candidates should be able to remove rubble and other debris at construction sites and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
