Lakeside Dairy Ltd based in Duagh, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Dairy herdsperson. Lakeside Dairy Ltd has always been utilized to transform the most difficult soils for cropping. With our first attempt in 2005; in a short time we have developed a system which utilizes not only our livestock by-product but also that of nearby poultry farms to create a more consistent and usable fertilizer.  The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $20.00 to $22.00 hourly (to be negotiated) 35 to 45 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning
Work setting: Rural area

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Equipment and machinery experience: 
Milking system (automated), Tractor
Area of specialization: Dairy cattle

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to handle large workload
  • The candidates should be able to work in dairy, odours, and outdoors

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to feed inventory, monitoring animal health, carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs, calving
  • The candidates should be able to formulate feeding program, maintain livestock performance records
  • The candidates should be able to maintain quality control and production records
  • The candidates should be able to recognize and treat certain livestock health problems
  • The candidates should be able to maintain work records and logs, perform general farm duties
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens, milk cows
