Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a recognized legal or administrative assistant program
Experience: Candidates should have experience providing excellent client or customer service

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • The candidates should have satisfactory Enhanced Security Screening – Level III
  • The candidates should have satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), and Adult and Child Abuse Registry Checks
  • The candidates should have the ability to lift and transport related equipment weighing up to 35 lbs (16 kg)
  • The candidates should have the ability to work overtime as necessary with little or no notice
  • The candidates should have the ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet workload demands
  • The candidates should have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • The candidates should have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a respectful workplace

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience performing clerical or administrative duties, including data entry, answering phones, responding to e-mails, as well as manual and electronic filing
  • The candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks in high-pressure situations
  • The candidates should have the ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy
  • The candidates should have excellent English verbal communication skills
  • The candidates should have excellent written communication skills
  • The candidates should have experience working with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The candidates should have other related post-secondary education and related training

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to receive, monitor, and update criminal charges or Court Information accurately and efficiently into the Criminal Court Automated Information Network (CCAIN)
  • The candidates should be able to prepare, publish, print, and distribute the daily court dockets for the Dauphin Court Centre and four circuit locations
  • The candidates should be able to type a variety of court orders or papers, including highly complex documents, accurately and efficiently as they come out of court each day
  • The candidates should be able to create and enter Warrants for Arrest, Certificates of Failure to Appear, Warrants for Witness, Orders for Committal, Summonses, and Release Orders on CCAIN
  • The candidates should be able to ensure they are typing court papers in the proper priority, taking into account custody status
