Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly for 21 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Part time leading to full time
Location: Enderby, BC
Shifts: Day
Work setting: Child care centre
Work site environment: Candidates should work in outdoors, noisy and non-smoking
Security and safety: Criminal record should checked, medical exam required, immunization records required and vulnerable sector should checked
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver’s licence


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Emergency child care first aid and CPR

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment, in an organized way and also take initiative
  • The candidate should be dependable, reliable and also a team player
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication and also have values and ethics
  • The candidate should be able to supervise 11-15 people


  • The candidate should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, storytelling
    Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest and also engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
  • The candidate should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
  • The candidate should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and also knowledge of licensing regulations
  • The candidate should be able to assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, leading/instructing groups, lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs, instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts, ensure health and safety regulations are followed and also monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required
