Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a three year community college diploma as an Engineering Technologist
Experience: Candidates should have three to five years of experience in engineering design with a focus on municipal servicing, storm water management, and road design, preferably in a municipal setting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have or have the ability to obtain C.E.T. or P.Eng designation, with preference given to candidates who already possess this designation
- The candidates should have a comprehensive understanding and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure and land development processes, including knowledge of Provincial regulations such as the Planning and Municipal Acts
- The candidates should possess time management skills with the ability to manage multiple and changing demands and priorities
- The candidates should be proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and engineering reports and documents
- The candidates should have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and represent the City during meetings
- The candidates should have experience working with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- The candidates should have knowledge of Bluebeam Revu and G.I.S systems and possess a valid Class G driver’s license in good standing during the course of employment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to review and provide comments on technical submissions for Planning Applications, including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Plans of Subdivision, Site Plans, and other planning-related applications, ensuring compliance with Municipal and Provincial regulations and good engineering practices
- The candidates should be able to prepare and coordinate Subdivision Agreements, including writing and compiling conditions from various departments and outside agencies, security calculations, and administering and executing agreements
- The candidates should be able to ensure that municipal infrastructure is coordinated with adjacent developments
- The candidates should be able to review each application with respect to service availability and development restrictions
- The candidates should be able to carry out background research and assist with the development and updating of policies, procedures, and technical standards for development-related municipal servicing and infrastructure
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and review projects, including the preparation of Terms of Reference, administration, and review of development engineering studies, and various infrastructure needs and feasibility studies
- The candidates should be able to respond to requests and attend meetings organized by the offices of the Mayor and Members of Council, other departments, developers, consultants, the public, and external agencies and perform other related duties
