Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Documentation knowledge: Dangerous goods occurrence reports
Transportation/travel experience: Short-haul, Local
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be physically demanding
• The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
• The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 45 kg (100 lbs
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, and large workload

Other Requirements:

• The candidate should be organized, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
• The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

• Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques, owner-operator business skills
• The candidates should be able to professionalism in customer service, arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations, drive lighter, special purpose trucks
• The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, pay and receive payments for goods
• The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, perform brake adjustments, perform emergency roadside repairs
• The candidates should be able to oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, perform preventive maintenance
• The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, receive and relay information to central dispatch, transport and handle dangerous goods
• The candidates should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargoT
