Transportation information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, and Public transportation is available
Work setting: Child care centre
Supervision: 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development worker (ECE level 2), First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, able to work in noisy environments, and be non-smoking
  • The candidates should be capable of handling physically demanding tasks, comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and show dependability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral communication
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility and exhibit reliability
  • The candidates should be a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to engage in storytelling with children, assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children’s development, and lead activities such as telling stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in record keeping, encourage children’s creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, and engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, prepare snacks, and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to establish guidelines for behavior, maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects children’s health, security, and well-being
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours, and supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
