Salary: $20.00 hourly for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Port Moody, BC
Shifts: Day, Morning

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) and first aid certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance and criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, handle physically demanding work, and adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have dependability, excellent oral communication, and judgment
  • The candidates should have the ability to multitask

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, maintain daycare equipment, and order supplies and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
