Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education in an Environmental Field
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years of field experience, preferably in mining operations

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to operate ATV, snow machines, watercraft, and field equipment
  • The candidates should have an excellent ability to effectively work with a team and work independently and in a team setting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess superior computer skills and strong experience with Excel and EQWin
  • The candidates should have a Class G License, a strong safety focus and organization and time management skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide technical support to the Environmental Department, including fieldwork, laboratory testing, and office-related tasks
  • The candidates should be able to perform site-wide inspections to ensure compliance with environmental standards and assist with hazardous waste management, ensuring proper handling and disposal
  • The candidates should be able to collect environmental samples (air, soil, surface, and groundwater) for both external laboratory analysis and in-house testing
  • The candidates should be able to ensure environmental compliance with the site monitoring program and government regulations
  • The candidates should be able to follow site-specific procedures for environmental safety and compliance and assist with environmental incident response, including investigation and reporting
  • The candidates should be able to perform calibration and maintenance of field and laboratory equipment to ensure operational accuracy
  • The candidates should be able to conduct streamflow measurements, manage data, and maintain accurate records
  • The candidates should be able to assist with government reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and apply knowledge of environmental procedures, techniques, and regulations in all tasks
