Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Area of specialization: Beef cattle, Horses
Equipment and machinery experience: Tractor, Farm truck, Haying equipment, Skidsteer, Forklift, Hand tools 

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be involved in various agricultural activities, including beef cattle ranching, fruit and vegetable combination farming, hay farming, wheat farming, and other grain farming
  • The candidates should engage in miscellaneous animal farming and miscellaneous crop farming
  • The candidates should be experienced with livestock and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including dusty, hot, wet, or noisy environments, and should be comfortable with dirtiness
  • The candidates should have the ability to work independently and manage a large workload
  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks, capable of handling repetitive tasks, and able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should have attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and performing bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks
  • The candidates should be comfortable with sitting, standing for extended periods, and walking

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should be organized, reliable, and demonstrate flexibility in their approach
  • The candidates should be team players who exercise good judgment and are quick learners

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to handle animals, including developing and guiding their behavior, diagnosing health issues, and performing grooming and feeding activities
  • The candidates should be able to monitor animal health, including monitoring the calving process and treating health issues
  • The candidates should be able to ensure farm safety and biosecurity procedures are followed, including disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses and setting and monitoring water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, as well as clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
  • The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties, including weeding, fertilizing, and spraying crops, as well as feeding and tending animals
  • The candidates should be able to detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry and formulate feeding programs, as well as train horses
